Project FoodTree conducted a food drive in our school, Global Indian International School Punggol, between the 15th and 19th of March in collaboration with Food From The Heart, a food charity NGO based in Singapore. The drive was led by Prakhar Agarwal and Mnasvin Chaturvedi assisted by Mothikrishnan Vellamani, Narain Karthik Sathyaprakash, Prajna Gon, and Varish Sriram. Collecting over 20 bags of food, it is easy to say that the food drive was a success. The aim of the food drive was to address the problem of food insecurity that persists in Singapore by engaging students directly through their donations. All the collected food is set to be distributed from FFTH’s 79 collection centres to needy families. Overall, arranging the drive was a really insightful experience for the Project FoodTree team.
